Description

In Crush the Giant: Speed Challenge, you get dropped into a pretty wild showdown—tiny car versus absolutely massive giant. Your task sounds simple enough: accelerate that car to its limit, then send it flying straight at the behemoth and hope all that built-up speed actually matters when rubber meets...giant shin, I suppose. Controls are straightforward; there’s a big emphasis on timing your acceleration for maximum velocity just before launching into the colossal foe ahead of you. It’s interesting how much suspense builds during those last few seconds as you inch closer to full throttle. Blink too early and you’ll end up sort of bumping into the giant like an apologetic bumper car, not exactly awe-inspiring stuff. Some runs you’ll really nail it, but other times you’re left thinking, “Well, let’s try again.” There aren’t complicated upgrades or deep skill trees here—you play to beat your previous record and maybe chuckle at the over-the-top ragdoll physics. The pacing keeps things moving; rounds don’t drag on. Even younger players should be able to pick it up quickly (though adults might secretly want one more go). It probably won’t eat hours of your life but could fill in a break quite nicely. That being said, smashing giants with cars never really loses its quirky charm.

The first time I played this game I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect—ramming a giant with a souped-up car sounded either ridiculous or hilarious (it was mostly both). You spend most of each round nervously eyeing that speed gauge; then when you finally slam into the titan at top speed…well, it is satisfying in this crunchy sort of way. I did notice after several rounds that once you get the hang of timing, things start feeling repetitive if you’re looking for depth or variety. That part could use a little extra spice, maybe? Still, I kept coming back for one more try—it has that stubborn pick-up-and-play hook. To be honest, anyone wanting quick bursts of silly arcade fun will get what they came for here.
